All lectures take place at 7.30 p.m. on alternate Wednesdays each Session
in basement Lecture Theatre, K3.25 , of the John Anderson Building, University of Strathclyde, 107 Rottenrow East, Glasgow G4 0NG.  A lift is available for the disabled  very close to the East entrance of the building. Members of the Society will be on hand  to answer questions either at the entrance level or  the basement level next to the  front entrances of the lecture theatre.

The John Anderson Building is in a pedestrianised area between Rottenrow and Rottenrow East. Walking routes are shown as blue dots. A small amount of free car parking is available to those attending after the barrier is opened in the evening. Bus routes are shown in red. Click for a larger image

If you approach from the west by walking along this path turn right at the end of the building shown on the right of the image above. Click for a larger image.
The lift for disabled members and visitors and those with limited mobility is beside the East Entrance. Take the lift to level 3.
Turn right on level three after emerging from the lift. Go through the double doors. The entrance to the lecture theatre is then just past the ladies toilet.

Public Transport

Railway The nearest railway station is Glasgow High Street. If you are happy to climb all of the steps leading from George Street, the walk to the lecture theatre will take about 6 minutes on foot (0.2 miles). On the more gentle route via High Street and Rottenrow it will take about 8 minutes (0.4 miles). Glasgow Queen Street to the West entrance of the theatre is about a 12 minutes walk (0.6miles) via Cathedral Street, Montrose Street and Rottenrow. Glasgow Argyle Street station is about a 20 minute walk (0.9 miles) via Argyle Street, High Street and Rottenrow East.

Bus routes can be obtained from the First Bus website for Greater Glasgow. Buchanan Street bus station is approximately a 12 minute walk (0.6 miles) to the lecture theatre via Cathedral street, Montrose Street and Rottenrow

Car Parking

There is one disabled parking space in front of the building immediately beside the East Entrance. If the barrier is raised on Rottenrow there is a limited number of parking spaces in the evening behind the John Anderson building for those attending lectures. Street parking nearby is very limited on most lecture evenings, however there are several car parks very close to the lecture theatre. The Cathedral Precinct parking which is on Collins Street and close to the east end of Cathedral Street usually has spaces available on lecture nights.
